Lines of Sight
/Hello folks. In this article, I have a new assignment for you and it requires you to include a person or critter in your image. The idea here is to ensure that your subject has a clear line of sight and in the best situation, the viewer can see what the subject is looking at, or at least be able to imagine what the subject is looking at.
For this assignment to be successful, the subject should not be looking into the lens.
Pets, and small children can be excellent subjects because while their attention span may be short, when they do focus, they tend to be REALLY focused until they are not.
You can also find line of sight images with people who travel and are imaged looking at something. Folks in a museum are other strong examples. Or perhaps a small child looking down at a pile of letter blocks
Using line of sight in your images helps tighten up your story and keep your viewer engaged.
So that’s it. Go out and make some line of sight images to build your personal skill development library.
